I made it!

It’s as official as it gets. I’ve got the paper to prove it. I’m finally a law graduate! Time to change the Twitter profile and About Me page ;).

It was a blessed day; the weather was perfect (thanks for those who sent prayers up on my behalf!) and the atmosphere joyful. All the late nights, hard work and life-depriving things that a law degree equates to have paid off :).

Best of all, I could celebrate with my fellow law graduates and with those who have helped me get here. Thanks to those who popped by and for your well-wishes, flowers and gifts :).

Graduation dinner was had at Pabu Grill and Sake (post to come hehe) followed by some delightful scoops of ice-cream at Il Dolce Freddo ;).

I’d like to particularly acknowledge my special guests for the day. My primary school principal and her husband who both graciously attended my graduation ceremony. They saw something in me so early on and nominated me for a trust fund scholarship, which provided for my high-quality secondary school education, setting me up well for the following years of tertiary studies. Without their support, encouragement and prayers, I would not be where I am today. Thank you, Mr and Mrs Norsworthy!

And of course, my parents. They believed in me even when I wanted to give up. During those all nighters, they would check in to see if they could make me a hot drink or just stay up to keep me company. They are my pillars of support. My success is your success and all for the glory of God! I am so blessed to have you not only as my parents but as my mentors, my sounding board when I have challenges and also to have you as my friends. I love you both and thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart!

Back to the Singapore food next ;).

Have a lovely weekend!

MELB – SG : The journey begins…

Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start…

One of the things I look forward to when I travel, is the view from the sky :).  So,  allow me to indulge in a few photos snapped on the way to Singapore (SG)??

up, up and away we go!

Note: For those just after the food reviews, I’m sorry but you’ll have to wait for the next post!  For those who don’t mind engaging with my ramblings, please read on :).

Though I was tired and had acquired odd back pain after the flight(s), it was good to see the friendly face of my dear blog-first-real-life-second friend, Angel, waiting for me on the other side of customs!  I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it on this blog before but I found Angel’s blog via a friend of a friend’s blog perhaps 4 years ago (has it really been that long?) and after adequate stalking on Facebook background checks, we became friends in real life when Angel came to Melbourne and I visited Perth :).  She was such a gracious host sister to me, taking days off from work to take me around and I am forever indebted to her and her family for letting me stay at their place during the SG leg of my trip!  You are welcome at my home when you next visit Melb, dear ^^.

Anyway, by the time I arrived in SG, it was 10pm and having been on the go since 2pm Aussie time (so 11 hours), my body was ready to go to bed.  My mind, however, wanted to know the plan for the week.  So after some Mee Goreng, the Macbook was whipped out, along with the vague list I’d put together with help from friends and Your Singapore and we got to work…

opps, mee goreng me eat all!
opps, mee goreng me eat all!

…to construct this plan of places to go and food to eat:

What it looked like after 7 days...
What it looked like after 7 days…

As you can see, I gave this list a good go by the end of the week with the majority of the places to go being food-related haha.  There was a LOT of food consumed on this trip (the extra kgs I likely put on – I don’t intend to weigh myself until I’ve done a few more sessions at the gym – can testify to that lol) and originally, I wanted to launch into a few food places on this post, however, I realised that I got a bit carried away with my story-telling and given my own short attention span when it comes to writing/reading rambling blog posts, I’ll save it for the next post ;).

Coming up:  Be prepared for bubble tea, famous chicken rice and kaya toast! :D Stay tuned!

Question: Can anyone guess which musical the lyrics at the start of the post are from??

P.S. I’m graduating from law tomorrow!! For the praying kind, please pray that   the Melbourne weather is good – not too hot, not too cold, sunshine and blue skies for happy snaps of our special day ^^ Thank you !!
